Veterinarians & Technicians Needed for Iowa State Fair Vet Camps

Two of the most popular programs at the Iowa State Fair, Vet Camp and Advanced Vet Camp, are returning bigger and better for 2019!  Vet Camp is an educational, exciting, hands-on learning program aimed at encouraging children in grades 4th – 7th to lean about animal health, welfare and what it is like to be an animal doctor.  Vet Camp is a two and a half hour program focusing on both large and small animal veterinary medicine.  With the popularity of Vet Camp; Advanced Vet Camp was developed for the 2010 Iowa State Fair.  Advanced Vet Camp is entering its tenth year as the next step for those kids who are in grades 8th -12th and will focus more on getting ready for secondary education and Veterinary School.  Advanced Vet Camp is also scheduled for two hours and incorporates hands-on learning.

Vet Camp and Advanced Vet Camp are FREE with paid Fair admission for attendees.  There are 30-40 spots available per session of each camp.   Please indicate your preferred date and either Vet Camp or Advanced Vet Camp on the enclosed volunteer form.  Vet Camp and Advanced Vet Camp are comprised of three stations that are detailed in the enclosed brochure.

All volunteers will receive a Fair admission ticket, vehicle permit and a 2019 Vet Camp or Advanced Vet Camp t-shirt.  Please indicate your t-shirt size on the enclosed sign up form.  If you volunteer more than one day, you will receive an admission ticket and parking for each day.  Volunteer packets will be sent in mid-July.  Please feel free to volunteer for both Vet Camp and Advanced Vet Camp.
