Iowa Veterinary Medical Association Corporation Minutes

Scheman Building – Ames, IA
The annual Meeting of the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association Corporation was called to order by President Dr. Shawn Nicholson at 12:15 pm.
 
Minutes of the meeting of September 29, 2022, were reviewed among attendees. It was moved, seconded, and passed to approve the minutes.
 
Copies of the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet of the IVMA were distributed to attendees for review.  It was moved, seconded, and passed to accept the financials.
 
The necrology report was given and included the following:
Dr. Michael R. Anderson – Des Moines, IA
Dr. Arnold G. Beukelman – Orange City, IA
Dr. Lawrence H. Birchmier – Mitchellville, IA
Dr. Donald J. Casey – Paradise Valley, AZ
Dr. Leslie C. Hemmingson – Le Mars, IA
Dr. A. Merle Lane – Sigourney, IA
Dr. A. J. Neumann – Orange City, IA
Dr. William O. Reece – Ames, IA
Dr. Roy A. Schultz – Avoca, IA

The following IVMA leaders were recognized by President Nicholson:

• Incoming Vice President Dr. Aubrey Cordray
• Retiring Executive Board Members Drs. Chelsea Stewart & Amanda Steffen.
• New Executive Board Directors Drs. Zachary Wilcox & Rachel Friedrich.
• Executive Board and IVMA Foundation Board members in attendance were asked to stand to be recognized.
• IVMA Delegate Dr. Bill Williams & Alternate Delegate Dr. Molly Lee to AVMA House of Delegates.
• AVMA District 7 Representative Dr. Chuck Lemme was recognized.
• Emerging Leader Liaisons - Drs. Alicen Tracey & Grace Steenhagen

There was no other business to come before the Corporation. 
 
It was moved, seconded and passed to adjourn the meeting at 12:30 pm.

Minutes of the meeting of September 30, 2021, were reviewed among attendees. It was moved, seconded, and passed to approve the minutes.
 
Copies of the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet of the IVMA were distributed to attendees for review.  It was moved, seconded, and passed to accept the financials.
 
The necrology report was given and included the following:

One addition was made – Dr. Earl J. Goerdt – Dyersville, IA
 
Changes to the IVMA Articles of Incorporation were posted on the IVMA website and in the IVMA Updates for attendees for review and a summary on the tables. It was moved, seconded, and passed to accept the changes to the IVMA Articles of Incorporation.
 
The following IVMA leaders were recognized by President Bright:

• Incoming Vice President Dr. Kenneth May
• Retiring Executive Board Members Drs. Michael Anderson, Melissa Beyer and Wayne Rychnovsky.
• New Executive Board Directors Drs. Preston Ayers, Lisa Thilges and Kate Hoffmann.
• Executive Board members in attendance were asked to stand to be recognized
• IVMA Delegate to AVMA House of Delegates – Dr. Jodie Pettit is retiring this year.
• IVMA Delegate Dr. Bill Williams & Alternate Delegate Dr. Molly Lee.
• Emerging Leader Liaisons - Drs. Abbey Smith and Alicen Tracey

There was no other business to come before the Corporation. 
 
The meeting adjourned at 12:30 pm.
