Iowa Veterinary Medical Association Corporation Minutes

The annual Meeting of the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association Corporation was called to order by President Dr. Brenda Bright at 12:15 pm.
 
Minutes of the meeting of September 30, 2021, were reviewed among attendees. It was moved, seconded, and passed to approve the minutes.
 
Copies of the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet of the IVMA were distributed to attendees for review.  It was moved, seconded, and passed to accept the financials.
 
The necrology report was given and included the following:
Dr. Edwin L. Boote – Sioux Center, IA
Dr. Don A. Buchanan – Grundy Center, IA
Dr. Dale L. Drum – Remsen, IA
Dr. Craig M. Ellsworth – Lakota, IA
Dr. Gordon R. Esbeck – Tipton, IA
Dr. Dominic S. Gentile – Whitehouse, NJ
Dr. Richard D. Jamison – Sidney, IA
Dr. William “Bill” Jordan – Donnellson, IA
Dr. Arthur R. Lemley – Plano, IA

One addition was made – Dr. Earl J. Goerdt – Dyersville, IA
 
Changes to the IVMA Articles of Incorporation were posted on the IVMA website and in the IVMA Updates for attendees for review and a summary on the tables. It was moved, seconded, and passed to accept the changes to the IVMA Articles of Incorporation.
 
The following IVMA leaders were recognized by President Bright:

• Incoming Vice President Dr. Kenneth May
• Retiring Executive Board Members Drs. Michael Anderson, Melissa Beyer and Wayne Rychnovsky.
• New Executive Board Directors Drs. Preston Ayers, Lisa Thilges and Kate Hoffmann.
• Executive Board members in attendance were asked to stand to be recognized
• IVMA Delegate to AVMA House of Delegates – Dr. Jodie Pettit is retiring this year.
• IVMA Delegate Dr. Bill Williams & Alternate Delegate Dr. Molly Lee.
• Emerging Leader Liaisons - Drs. Abbey Smith and Alicen Tracey

 
There was no other business to come before the Corporation.

Minutes of the meeting of September 10, 2020, were reviewed among attendees. It was moved, seconded, and passed to approve the minutes.
 
Copies of the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet of the IVMA were distributed to attendees for review.  It was moved, seconded, and passed to accept the financials.
 
The necrology report was given and included the following:

Changes to the IVMA Bylaws were posted on the IVMA website and in the IVMA Updates for attendees for review. It was moved, seconded, and passed to accept the changes to the IVMA Bylaws.
 
The following IVMA leaders were recognized by President Berger:

• Retiring Executive Board Members Drs. Andrew Van Roekel, Vincent Collison, Kristen Obbink, Leon Larson, and Jerry Katzer
• Incoming Vice President Dr. Kristen Obbink
• New Executive Board Directors Drs. Chelsea Stewart, Christine Bean, Molly Lee, Abby Bowers and Carl Schuler
• Executive Board members in attendance were asked to stand to be recognized
• IVMA Delegates to AVMA House of Delegates – Dr. Jodie Pettit & Dr. Bill Williams
• Emerging Leader Liaisons - Drs. Ryan Shuey and Abbey Smith
• 2020-2021 Power of Ten Leadership members were recognized

Other business brought before the Corporation:

• Dr. Mike Todd has written a book titled “Riding With My Dad” which will be free to anyone that make a $20 purchase or more to the IVMF.
• The IVMA has secured naming rights to the Client Services Lobby that will be located in the new VDL and a student/faculty conference room located in the CVM Gentle Doctor Café.

There was no other business to come before the Corporation.
