The Iowa Veterinary Medical Association announces the availability of grant(s) supporting clinical research in beef cattle. Proposals should be aimed at providing practical solutions veterinarians can utilize in beef production environments. Funding for this support is provided by the IVMA Bovine Committee from proceeds of the Iowa Green/Gold Tag Preconditioning Program. The IVMA is encouraging proposals from private practitioners and collaborative research projects between University faculty and private practitioners.
The proposal should include the title, a project summary of the proposed study, a detailed experimental protocol (no more than three pages), references, biographical sketches, a budget (including justification for all expenses). Salary replacement for faculty members, practitioners, post-docs or graduate students, indirect costs, publication costs, or scientific equipment will not be supported. A report of the results of the project are expected to be reported at IVMA Annual Meeting and submitted to a peer-reviewed publication upon completion. Proposals will be ranked by the IVMA Bovine Committee for beef cattle practice relevance.
