President's Message

Greetings,
It has quickly become cliché to say that 2020 has been unlike any year so far. Unpredictability has become predictable. Like many veterinarians and <cough cough> veterinary students I have known, we’re used to planning, checking plans, obsessing about plans, revising plans, and planning to plan. It’s what got us into and through vet school, and it’s what keeps us afloat out there in the world. 2020 has not been a good year for us planners. My cat seems to be taking the brunt of this burden. My family, recognizing my sleeplessness for what it is: an exercise in endless loops of esoteric worry, has long since learned to sleep through it. I typically hold these early morning mental futility sessions between the hours of 3-5am. I find that I can do my best worrying then without interruption from my snoozing family. More...
