Veterinarians & Technicians Needed for Iowa State Fair Vet Camps

Vet Camp, one of the most popular programs at the Iowa State Fair, is an educational, exciting, hands-on learning program aimed at encouraging 4th - 7th graders to learn about animal health, welfare and what it is like to be an animal doctor. The two-hour program focuses on both large and small animal veterinary medicine. Advanced Vet Camp is for 8th - 12th grade who have an interest in Veterinary Medicine.   Both Vet Camp and Advanced Vet Camp are free with paid fair admission for participants.

Vet Camp will be comprised of three stations for 2017 including Parasites, The Great Disease Spread and Farm Animal Wellness.  Advanced Vet Camp will also be comprised of three stations consisting of The Dissective Truth, The Road to Vet School and A Birth Story.

Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians are needed to help teach these youth who are interested in veterinary medicine. All volunteers will receive a fair admission ticket, vehicle permit and a 2017 Vet Camp t-shirt or Advanced Vet Camp water bottle. Volunteer packets will be sent the end of July.  Please feel free to volunteer for both Vet Camp and Advanced Vet Camp.  If you volunteer more than one day you will receive an admission ticket and parking for each day.
