Greetings,
I love spring. Driving to work this morning with my window rolled down and my elbow stuck out, I couldn’t help but smile as I smelled the freshly turned earth, heard tractors pulling planters through the freshly prepared fields, and watched happy calves running together with tails up and heels in the air. Maybe I like it so much because it’s the signal that winter is finally over or perhaps because it makes life as a large animal veterinarian more tolerable when you get that call to head to the clinic for a dystocia when it’s above 32 degrees. VMLRP Shortage Areas Announced – Webinar Available for Applications

Seven Iowa counties and their adjacent counties (51 total) have been designated as veterinary shortage situations for 2016 for the USDA’s Veterinary Medical Loan Repayment Program (VMLRP). Approved applicants who commit to provide veterinary services for at least three years in one of these area, may be repaid for up to $25,000 of your student loan debt.

A webinar will be held on Tuesday April 12 at 1:00 PM CDT to review the application process. More information can be found on the USDA’s VMLRP Webinar page.
